Special Requests:

If you anticipate a conflict and need to skate a certain day or time, you may request accommodation by emailing the Testing Chair.  We will try to work with your requests, but there are no guarantees. All special requests should be emailed to the Testing Chair before registration closes. Any special requests received after the schedule is published will not be considered, except conflicts with competition schedule and emergencies.

Refund:

NO REFUNDS unless the session is cancelled, or as outlined in the BBFSC Refund Policy below.

Priority System:

In the event that the test session becomes full, in any respect, priority goes to BBFSC Members (highest level and earliest registrants will have priority) followed by Associate Members (highest level and earliest registrants) then Non Members (earliest registrants) Border Blades Club Members are given priority if time becomes limited.

Contingent Tests:

If you are taking a test that is Contingent please register online for all dances you want to test.  If the lower level test was not passed you will be refunded for the dance tests that were not taken.     

Testing Fees:

Testing fees are the cost to take a particular test and are listed on the Registration Form for each test*.  Fees for practice ice with the partner are also paid on the Registration Form. Partner fees are paid additionally to the partner as noted below.

*Note: Test fees are based on ice costs, judges’ expenses, which include travel, lodging, and meals.  U.S. Figure Skating judges are volunteers and are not paid a fee or stipend.

Late Fees:

If you register following the deadline a $50 late fee will apply.  There are NO GUARANTEES that you will test if you register late.

Partner fees are charged by the partner for partnering a test or partner practice lesson. These fees are not included on the Registration Form and must be paid before the time of practice or test. These fees are in addition to the Testing and Practice Fees and are as noted in the chart below.

We will do our best to accommodate each skater for partner practice.  We will use the priority system above to give skaters practice time up to the recommended times below. The amount of time awarded is given at the discretion of the Dance Partner and the BBFSC Test Chair.

Partner Practice Fees

The Partner Practice options on the registration form are only for the ice rental time with the partner.

The payment (cash or check) to the dance partner must be turned in at the rink before your practice time.  Checks are to be made out to the dance partner.

Recommended Partner Practice Times:

• If you are testing 1-2 Preliminary or Pre-Bronze dances: 10-15 minutes
• If you are testing 3 Preliminary or Pre-Bronze dances: 15-20 minutes
• If you are testing 1-2 Bronze, Pre-Silver, or Silver dances: 10-20 minutes
• If you are testing 3 Bronze, Pre-Silver, or Silver dances: 20-30 minutes
• If you are testing 1-2 Pre-Gold or Gold dances: 20-30 minutes
• If you are testing 3 or more Pre-Gold or Gold dances or any International: 40-60 minutes

Partner Testing Fees

The payment (cash or check) to the dance partner must be turned in at the rink before your test.  Checks are to be made out to the dance partner.

If you are testing a dance that is contingent, you will need to write a separate check for the contingent Dance test. Check will be given back to you if the lower level test is not passed.

Please review the following prior to registering for any membership or program.   

1. The Border Blades Figure Skating Club does NOT offer refunds after the skating season begins.
2. Refunds prior to the start of a skating session may be given for valid medical reasons or the dissolution of a synchronized skating line ONLY.
3. All requests for refunds must be in writing, addressed to the Board of Directors and the request must be accompanied by an official and detailed doctor's certificate (if applicable) and treatment plan, before any consideration is given.
4. If granted, refunds for medical reasons will be less a $75 administration fee, Border Blades Membership fee and USFS registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds are for ice fees, synchro ice fees and synchro coaching fees only.
5. The Club is not responsible for refunding registration fees, coaches travel fees or making-up for sessions missed.
6. The Club is NOT obligated to refund fees for unforeseen ice closures due to special events/circumstances, weather or equipment/mechanical breakdown beyond our control. The Club will make every effort to make up for cancelled sessions.
